More HV Medals!

The first official NY sponsored Craft Beer Competition took place on July 29 in Rochester, and it was a big hit. There were 700+ entries from 143 NY Craft Breweries and a number of our Hudson Valley Breweries took home awards. Rushing Duck Brewing in Chester took home two medals, one for the American IPA Variations category and one for the Wild and Sour Ale category. They won gold for their Brux IPA, made using Saccharomyces Bruxellensis yeast with El Dorado, Mosaic, Meridian and Azacca hops and a Bronze for Zingerbier, their ginger infused take on a German Berliner Weisse. Mill House Brewing in Poughkeepsie also took home 2 medals, one for the Wild and Sour Ale category and one for the Experimental Beer category. They won gold for Citra Bridges, their American Pale Ale/Kettle Sour hybrid that features and is dry hopped with Citra and bronze for their Cucumber Blessings Cream Ale. Rare Form Brewing in Troy took home a Bronze in the Wheat Beer category with WITicale, a Wit brewed exclusively with NY grown Triticale rye wheat hybrid. Peekskill Brewery won a Gold medal in the Fruit and Spice Beer category with Pinky Up, a sour made with pink guava and Motueka, Cascade and Centennial hops. The Brooklyn Brewery at the CIA in Hyde Park took home a Silver Medal with their Class Project Stay Sharp Saison, a traditional Saison dry hopped with Galaxy and Citra; made with help from the students in the Art & Science of Brewing class. Glenmere Brewing in Florida took home a Silver medal for their Black Meadow Bog Stout and Roscoe Beer Co. took home a Bronze for their Breaking Point Barleywine.
